Dr. Edwin Klumper
Edwin has a broad experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries across large international, mid-size and start-up companies. He held positions across Research, Clinical, and Marketing & Sales. He has a profound knowledge of M&S processes with a strong track record in commercial roles and proven capabilities in leadership roles. His career started in 1990 as scientist conducting research towards drug resistance in oncology. Taking advantage of his research experience he joined an oncology start-up company (Yew Tree Pharmaceuticals) as Medical Director. His commercial transfer started in Product Management (Asta Medica and Amgen) followed by line management positions as Business Unit Director and Brand Director Europe at Amgen (a global Biotech leader), and VP Marketing & Sales Europe for Nabi biopharmaceuticals (European start-up of US biotech). In various commercial roles across Europe he gained strong knowledge and experience in business development, strategy development, European pricing, turnaround management, block buster launch, M&S effectiveness, and building commercial teams and operations.
Edwin combines a solid medical and business background. He holds a MD and PhD in Medicine from the Free University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, strengthened by an international MBA from RSM, Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In June 2006 he participated in an executive course Pharmaceutical and Biotech Leadership at Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.
