Dr. Lucio A.A. van Rooijen
Lucio has a long-standing and broad experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries across large international, mid-size and start-up companies.
He started his industrial career in 1984 in the pharmaceutical division of Bayer AG where he held various international management functions in preclinical research, drug development, marketing, sales, controlling and project management and served on several divisional interdisciplinary and strategic international task forces. Subsequently, he was President and CEO of a pioneering start-up company (UWH Science Brokers GmbH), executive VP business development of the pharmaceutical contract sales force organisation Pharma Rent GmbH, VP business development and board member of Xzillion GmbH & Co. KG (Aventis group), a proteomics solution provider and President and CEO of the venture capital funded biopharmaceutical company Migragen AG. 2005-2010 he was a member of the supervisory board of humatrix AG. In 2003 Lucio started van Rooijen & Partners, a consultancy boutique in the life scienes industries.
Lucio holds a PhD in biochemistry / neurochemistry from the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands and performed pre- and postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Public Health, the Netherlands, the University of Michigan, USA and the Louisiana State University, USA. Lucio is a member of various international scientific, marketing, venture capital and business societies.
